Ways to Serve at Adullam
At Adullam Outreach, there’s a place for everyone to serve. Whether you’re handy with tools, love to cook, or just want to lend a helping hand, your time and skills will make a lasting impact in Milwaukee’s urban inner city.
1. Building Projects & Maintenance
Managing a 25,000-square-foot facility means there’s always something to fix, clean, or create. From annual roof work to creative upgrades like our music studio and Core Café, your skills can help us keep the building safe, welcoming, and inspiring.
Ways to Help:
Artists: murals, artwork, creative spaces
Skilled trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting
General cleaning and upkeep
2. Food Preparation & Hospitality
Food brings people together, and we rely on volunteers to help us serve thousands of meals each year. Whether it’s a hot breakfast at the Warming Center, a cookout for youth groups, or meals for mission teams, you can make sure no one goes hungry at Adullam.
Ways to Help:
Prepare and serve meals for Relief Center days (1st & 3rd Thursdays)
Cook and serve for mission groups over the summer
Help with dinners and breakfasts for families in the Warming Center
3. Relief Center Support
Our Relief Center provides free furniture and household essentials to families in need. Volunteers keep this lifeline running smoothly by sorting donations, organizing inventory, and even delivering furniture to neighbors in our community.
Ways to Help:
Sort and organize donations
Assist with furniture pick-ups and deliveries (with your vehicle or ours)
Help with trash removal and maintaining clean spaces
4. Family Warming Center
During the cold Milwaukee winters, families find safety and dignity at our Warming Center. Volunteers are the hands and hearts that make this possible—providing meals, hospitality, and care.
Ways to Help:
Prepare and serve meals (dinner & breakfast)
Serve as an overnight aide (6 PM – 8 AM; background check required)
Clean and reset rooms daily
Wash and fold sheets and bedding
5. Summer Service Activities
Every summer, mission groups come from across the country to serve in Milwaukee. Volunteers help coordinate projects, prepare meals, and work side-by-side with students on hands-on service that blesses our building and neighborhood.
Ways to Help:
Coordinate and guide youth service projects (Mon–Thu, 9 AM – 4 PM)
Support landscaping and beautification efforts
Assist with summer cookouts—setup, serving, and cleanup
6. Block Development & Beautification
We believe change starts on our own block. That’s why we’re committed to transforming the 30th Street Industrial Corridor into a vibrant, welcoming place. Volunteers roll up their sleeves to restore homes, support small businesses, and bring life back to our streets.
Ways to Help:
Landscaping, weed removal, fencing, and exterior painting
Support repairs and improvements for homes on the block
Install windows, paint siding, and improve signage for local businesses
Share creative ideas for empty lots and community spaces
